Week three, session 1- continued
initial mockups- Botanical Gardens

When i was thinking about my Botanical Gardens designs i wanted to make sure that i involved the actual walk ways into the designs to make them say to read and understand. I found it quite difficult to do this as it was hard to not have the entire mage of a walkway and not add other elements to it (e.g. colour, patterns, extra layers of information)
For this design, i found a character walking (on www.designspiration.net) which i clear cut and put in my work to see whether having an actual subject walking would make it easier to tell that the theme is walkways. I think this design works well but i would like see if i could make it more abstract. Even though there are different layers of information telling the viewer that it is a track with flowers, trees and that people walk it, i want to add more and not be so rational about it.
For this design i wanted to focus on making sure that it was abstract but still told the story of walking at the Botanical Gardens and seeing flowers. I think that this is a clear indication of someone walking along a path, towards flowers. I want to challenge myself and see if i can come up with something that is still abstract but not having a rational idea like this. I need to find the right amount of clear rationality but still make my designs abstract.
For this design i wanted to play around with the idea of adding more than one subject into my design to show that the Botanical Gardens is a busy place and on a nice, sunny day there are multiple people and families there. I like this design and i think it represents the Botanical gardens well because most of the flowers are one of the main attractions. This design makes me want to smell the air and smell the sweet flowers. I want to communicate these realistic and emotive feelings then viewing my designs.
